2016 Head unit playback capabilities?

Recommended Posts

I'd like to know if we can play usb stick high fidelity music such as 24/96 when ripped & burned to a stick? Hello audiophiles.post-929-0-31525300-1493632790_thumb.jpg

I love hi-fidelity sound, not really a true audiophile. But here is my question; standard recording formats such as WAV are only the 48khz standard rate. Can you put a super high quality recording such as FLAC lossless or even PCM 24bit/96khz on the memory stick, then will the cars headunit recognize and play that? I'm guessing if it does playback then you are good to go.

I believe I have played such formatted files before.  I'd have to check.

EDIT: that was with my 2011 car, btw.

If it will play the file, it's playing it on 24/96. If it doesn't play it, clearly it's not working haha. Try and find out! That being said, I highly doubt it will make all that much difference. You can sample the data all you want, but if the amp or the speakers are not very good, have more data will not really make a big difference.

I agree, if the speakers aren't up to the fidelity we won't hear "mind blowing" quality. I will try to load some on my usb stick soon as I only have mp3 320 kblps on it now. Thanks people!

If you're expecting mind blowing, audiophile sound you will be disappointed.
