proper spark plug tightening procedures

Recommended Posts

guys the proper way to tighten spark plugs depends on the design. if it's a taper seat plug then you go 1/8th of a turn after the plug is seated to tighten. With a gasket type plug you tighten the plug untill the gasket is compressed and then go 1/4 turn more. don't go any further or you can strip the threads in the aluminum head.If you are putting plugs in a supercharged or turbo charged car then go by the torque specs of the engine manufacturer.
