2014 C7 Corvette vs 2014 GT500

Recommended Posts

Was it my imagination, or was the kid in the Corvette leaning forward as the 500 passed, trying to make the Corvette move faster?  :P

Still, I wouldn't turn down that Vette if I had the opportunity to own one!  And I'd take the GT500 without question!

The comments on that video are priceless.  I bet over 75% of those people arguing and bitching haven't even driven a car more powerful than a typical V6 Honda Accord and yet are talking like they can swing $65G's on car like it's gum money.

The Corvette sure can launch! I bet having an auto with launch control makes things easy though!

The Vette definitely left on the Shelby!!

They need beefed up transfer cases though.  I know a GTR owner around Milly and he said he's scared to use the launch control.  He had a bad experience with his once and said never again.  But his pockets are deep.  Next summer, it's going to California for some surgery.

Do explain.

Well my brother has a stage 3 TVS on his that made almost 650 at the wheels , so from a roll on the interstate it was no contest with a stock stingray. He was filling his tank up at the shell in Diamondhead miss and some guy came over and said he had a race for him. He then stated that his buddy got this new bad ass stingray with 465 horsepower never asking what my brother had under the hood. So my brother told him his track was on the interstate and well it didn't work out so well for him. He gets into races all the time in Mississippi them country boys don't care and don't ask they just wanna run.

His car is the reason I'm not scared to run the 80mm pulley because it runs so good and we basically have the same tune he just has the 80mm and roush cai

All about that tune!  I'm sure running a few less degrees of timing probably isn't going to rob you of that much power.  I'm sure the motor can take it fine even with hard pulls.

Yeah no doubt , like i said i would not even consider the 80mm but the proof is there only difference then will be the airbox and I can't bring myself to spend 500 bucks on a filter and piece of plastic

Did you have to get a new belt for the pulley? Is that part of changing out the wheel?

Naah my belt was already the shorter fead belt and I added the 90 mm Metco idler pulley. I can't get my SCT device to stay connected to my computer long enough to get a proper data log so I'm not putting the pulley on just yet

I called SCT and they know it's a problem with the latest firmware update and and are working on a fix to send out in a week or so. I emailed shaun at AED and he said some of his customers were having the same issues. Hopefully SCT fixes it.

I'll most likely just take a ride to Baton Rouge and get Stang-Hi put the pulley on and check the tension on the belt so that way if I need something they have it all in house. I wanna do the update to the SCT device there so incase something happens with that piece of shit SCT device and I get stuck I'm at least somewhere where I can get help without getting towed
